Mustang

The original pony car, forged to run.

From '64½ ponies on hubcaps to big-block '67 fastbacks, the first-generation Mustang became America's favorite classic. We forge wheels that keep that era honest — with the strength, clearance, and manners a driven Mustang needs.

The lineup

Mustang Wheels

A piece of history
In four model years, Ford drew the Mustang's styled steel wheel four different ways — chrome and argent at launch, charcoal centers by February '65, black rims under trim rings for '66, a half-inch wider for '67. On this car the wheel was never a fixed point; it was the one part of the design the factory kept perfecting. We picked up where they left off.

The lineage

What It Rolled On.

  1. 1964½ Wheel coversThe Mustang launched on stamped steel under full covers. The wheel was something to hide.
  2. 1965 Styled steelThe optional styled steel wheel — chrome hoop, argent centers — gave the Mustang its first real wheel identity. Ford recolored it within months.
  3. 1966 Trim ringsBlack rims under bright trim rings — the same wheel, redrawn again for the Mustang's biggest year.
  4. 1967 Half an inch widerThe styled steel grew to 14×5.5 the year the fastback roofline ran unbroken to the tail.

One Car, Many Worlds.

Ask ten Mustang owners what one should be, and you'll get ten answers.

  1. Restomod & Pro-Touring

    Restomod & Pro-Touring

Coyote swaps, modern brakes, suspension geometry the factory never offered — classic sheetmetal over a car that drives like today. These builds ask everything of a wheel, and forged is the honest answer.

  2. Trans-Am Tribute

    Trans-Am Tribute

In 1966 and '67 the Trans-Am championships belonged to Mustangs, and the faithful still build to those years — race stance, period wheels, function before flash. Heritage you can hear.

  3. Day Two & Vintage Drag

    Day Two & Vintage Drag

Ford's own contractors dragged Mustangs down the quarter-mile in 1965, and the street answered with mags, big-'n-littles, and a purposeful rake. Speed-shop nostalgia, done tastefully.

  4. Concours & Judged

    Concours & Judged

Date codes, correct finishes, a point standard that forgives nothing. We hold these cars in the highest respect — original is a language we speak, even when we build for the drivers.

  5. Drivers & Cruisers

    Drivers & Cruisers

The weekend companion: period look, modern radials, zero drama. Most Mustangs live here — loved, driven, and parked nose-out at the cruise-in.

How Our Wheels Are Made

Forged From a Single Block.

In the 1960s, a wheel left the factory as stamped steel — pressed in pieces, welded together, dressed up with a hubcap. It was the best the era could build. Every VFW wheel starts differently: one solid block of forged aluminum, shaped under pressure and machined to tolerances that didn't exist back then. Same soul. Stronger metal.

  1. A solid aluminum billet standing on a steel workbench before forging

    One Solid Block

Every wheel begins as a single solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum. No welds, no seams, no separate pieces — the entire wheel is in that block.

  2. A forging press compressing an aluminum blank between steel dies

    Forged Under Pressure

A forging press works the billet under thousands of tons of pressure — aligning the metal's grain and closing the voids a casting leaves behind. Heat treatment locks in that strength.

  3. A Stripper 17-inch wheel being machined on a CNC lathe, aluminum chips curling off the cut

    Machined to Fit Your Car

CNC machines cut the final form — bolt pattern, backspacing, and profile matched to the fitment we confirm with you first.

  4. A polished Stripper 17-inch forged wheel on the inspection bench beside a micrometer and dial gauge

    Finished and Inspected

Balanced, inspected, and finished to order. Then it's crated, insured, and on its way to your garage.
