Shop Talk is our plain-English reference for the words these cars are described in — wheel, fitment and restoration terms, defined the way owners actually use them.

Backspacing, offset and bolt pattern are drawn rather than described, because they are shapes, not sentences. Where a term is one owners routinely correct each other on — wheel cover versus hubcap, numbers matching versus numbers correct — we say which is which and why.
