Refund policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

The short version

  • Our wheels are built to order for your car. You have 48 hours after placing an order to cancel for a full refund, no questions asked.
  • After 48 hours your order is in production, and the sale is final.
  • In-stock accessories and hardware can be returned within 30 days, unused and in original packaging.
  • Damaged in shipping, defective, or not what you ordered? Tell us within 5 business days of delivery and we will take care of it.
  • Fitment problems are reviewed individually. Contact us before you mount anything else.

Everything below explains how each of those works, and why.

1. Talk to us before you order

This is the most important paragraph on this page: contact us before you buy.

A vintage car is not a spec sheet. Fifty or sixty years of owners, repairs, swapped rear ends, dropped spindles, tubbed wheel wells, and parts nobody wrote down. We cannot see any of that from an order confirmation.

Send us photos and measurements through our Fitment Help form, or call us. We will work through diameter, width, bolt pattern, backspacing, and tire size with you before any money changes hands. It costs nothing, it takes very little of your time, and it is the single best thing you can do to make sure the set that arrives is the right one.

2. Cancelling within 48 hours

You can cancel any wheel order within 48 hours of placing it, for any reason, and receive a full refund to your original payment method. No restocking fee. No explanation required.

Email support@vintageforgedwheels.com with your order number, or call (661) 433-1669. If you are close to the deadline, email is timestamped and safest.

3. Made-to-order wheels are final after 48 hours

Our wheels are forged and finished to the specifications on your order. They are not pulled off a shelf. Once the cancellation window closes, material is committed and the build begins.

A set built to a specific width, offset, and finish for one car is not a set we can sell to the next customer. For that reason, made-to-order wheel sales are final once the 48-hour cancellation window has passed. This includes changes of mind, changes in project direction, delays in your build, and sets that were ordered without checking fitment with us first.

This does not apply to wheels that arrive damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered. Those are covered in Section 5.

4. In-stock accessories and hardware

Center caps, lug nuts, hardware, and other in-stock items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund, as long as they are unused, uninstalled, and in their original packaging. You cover return shipping. Contact us first so we can authorize the return and give you the right address.

5. Damaged in transit, defective, or not what you ordered

Inspect every wheel when it arrives, before it goes anywhere near a tire machine.

If a wheel arrives damaged, has a structural or finish defect, or does not match what you ordered, contact us within 5 business days of delivery. Send your order number and clear photos of the wheel, the packaging, and the shipping label. Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved, because carriers routinely require it.

We will repair, replace, or refund the affected wheels, and we cover return shipping in these cases. Which of those three we do depends on what happened, and we will talk it through with you.

One practical note about freight: if a shipment looks visibly damaged while it is still on the truck, note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, or refuse the delivery outright, then call us. That single step makes a carrier claim far easier for both of us.

6. Finish variation is not a defect

Polished, brushed, and coated finishes are worked by hand. Slight variation in tone and texture between production runs, and between a wheel in your driveway and a photograph on a screen, is normal and is not a defect.

If what arrives is meaningfully different from what you ordered, that is Section 5, and we want to hear about it.

7. If the wheels do not fit

Sometimes a set arrives and something is wrong. Here is how we handle it, honestly.

First, stop. The moment a wheel does not sit right, stop there. Do not mount tires on the rest of the set. Do not force it, grind anything, or try to make it work. A set where one wheel was test-fitted and the other three are untouched in their boxes is a set we have real options with. A set where all four have been mounted, torqued, and driven is not.

Then contact us with photos of the wheel on the car, the interference point, and your order number. From there:

If we got the recommendation wrong. If we recommended the specification, and the information you gave us was accurate, and it does not fit, that is ours to make right. In practice that usually means the set comes back in new, unmounted condition, we split return shipping with you, and the value goes toward the correct set. We will work it out with you directly.

If the information we worked from turned out to be inaccurate. A fitment recommendation is only as good as what we are told. Measurements, ride height, tire sizes, and modifications are all self-reported, and we have no way to verify them from here. If the numbers did not match the car, or there was a modification we were not told about, we cannot take responsibility for the outcome. We will still look at what we can do, and often we can help with shipping or apply value toward a corrected set, but the cost is not ours to absorb.

If you ordered without checking with us. We will still review it and we will still try to help. You should expect a less favorable outcome than the two cases above, because the step that prevents this is the one step we ask everyone to take.

We review every one of these individually, and we do not publish a formula, because no two are alike. What we will do is tell you plainly which of the above we think it is, and why.

8. Condition requirements for any approved return

Where we have approved a return, the wheels must come back:

  • With no tires mounted. Once a tire has been mounted on a wheel, that wheel is no longer returnable.
  • Free of scratches, curb marks, scuffs, hub marks, and lug seat wear.
  • With no drilling, machining, refinishing, or other modification.
  • In the original packaging, with all hardware, center caps, and documentation included.
  • Packed properly and shipped insured, with tracking, to the address we give you.

Wheels that arrive back outside these conditions will either be returned to you, or refunded at a reduced amount reflecting their condition. We photograph every returned wheel on arrival and share those photos with you either way, so you can see exactly what we saw.

9. How to start a request

Email support@vintageforgedwheels.com or call (661) 433-1669.

Please include your order number, what happened, clear photos of the wheels, the car, and the packaging, and any relevant measurements. The more we can see, the faster we can get to an answer.

Do not ship anything back before we have confirmed the return in writing. Unauthorized returns cannot be processed and will be sent back at your expense.

We aim to respond within two business days.

10. Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of approval, or of our receiving and inspecting a returned item where a return is involved. Your bank or card issuer may take a few days beyond that to post it.

Original shipping charges are refunded where the fault is ours, or where an item arrived damaged or defective.

11. If something goes wrong, call us first

If you are unhappy with an order, tell us before you file a dispute with your card issuer. Not because we are trying to take anything away from you, but because a dispute freezes the money with the payment processor for weeks and hands the decision to someone who has never seen your car. We would rather just fix it.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under your card issuer's dispute process or under applicable law.

12. Your legal rights

This policy sits alongside your legal rights. It does not replace them. Nothing here removes any right you have under California or United States federal law, including any implied warranties that apply to the goods we sell. Where this policy and the law disagree, the law governs.
