The original
The 427 arrived in 1966. It turned the Sting Ray from quick into a car that needed real brakes and real tires. And it’s the pairing most people mean when they say mid-year Corvette.

Share your buildHow Our Wheels Are Made
In the 1960s, most wheels left the factory as stamped steel — pressed in pieces, welded together, dressed up with a hubcap. It was the best the era could build. Every VFW wheel starts differently: one solid block of forged aluminum, shaped under pressure and machined to tolerances that didn't exist back then. Same soul. Stronger metal.
Every wheel starts as one solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum. No welds. No seams. The entire wheel is cut from that block.
A forging press shapes the billet under thousands of tons of pressure. This aligns the metal's grain and closes the voids left by casting. Heat treatment locks in the strength.
CNC machines cut the final shape. We confirm the fitment with you before setting the bolt pattern and backspacing.
Before shipping, we balance and inspect every wheel. Then it's crated and insured for the trip to your garage.
The design
A wheel should look right from across the street and reward a closer look. Here is what gives the C2 66 its character, and what sits underneath it.
Monoblock means the wheel is machined from a single forged block of 6061-T6 aluminum: no welds, no seams, no separate center and barrel bolted together.
The bolt pattern and backspacing are machined to the fitment we confirm with you first, so the wheel is made for the car it is going on.
The rim lip and spoke faces are machined to hold light, and an engraved aluminum center cap closes the design at the hub.

What we changed
A wheel belongs in that conversation. Ours is forged rather than cast, making the metal denser where it matters, while the 17-inch diameter clears the brake packages people fit under these cars now. You feel the lower rotating mass in the steering of a heavy-nosed car. You don’t read it on a spec sheet.
